CHRISTmas, a time to love and celebrate

Its CHRISTmas again.. the time of the year where parents start to feel a pain in the wallet (to buy presents and to buy lots n lots of food), the time where the bank account of working people suddenly rises (CHRISTmas bonus!!!) n the time of the year when all the kids will think of presents and food... it is also the time when people are getting ready to go back to school... n also time for some people to get super happy or sad (over their PMR results)..

Its so sad that CHRISTmas is so commercialized nowadays. People only think of Santa Claus, presents, turkey... haiz... cant you guys see..?? CHRISTmas is actually a time to love (For God loved us first that He gave His one and only Son to us) and a time to celebrate (For Jesus came down as man to live among us and to die for our sins).

Well, i had a great time this year.. many things were going on.. even though i had to miss some of it.. sob sob...

GBRJ Sunday School CHRISTmas party (16/12/2005)
Just came back from Sibu and we are back in action again. We were invited guests to the Chinese congregation Sunday School CHRISTmas celebration... which was early in the morning... wow wow...

Ooo... candies, fun and kids... and we had a chance to take photo with 'Santa Claus' n the 2 little pretty Santa helper...

There were presentations by the kids. Ooo.. ain't she cute and sweet..???

Anyway, many of our dancers were missing that day, so we had to 'recycle' dancers... our dance had 3 parts...
These are the tambourine dancers...

and these are the flag dancers.. one person is missing... hahaha...

and the string dancers... (i told ya, we had to 'recycle' dancers... thats y me n lee en is there twice... hahaha...)

Baptist Churches dinner at Lucky Palace (16/12/2006)

This dinner was on the Saturday night that i came back from Sibu... 8 of us youth presented a dance on that night... flags, tambourine, and strings... Hallelujah! anyway, it is a dinner where Baptists churches in Seremban, PD and KL come together for a kinda like catch-up dinner. it was wonderful. Ps Eddie was suppose to come, but he had something, so, he missed it...

these are the full set of flag dancers...really proud of them..
and they are the real string dancers...

Now, these are the full set of dancers.. hahaha..
and all of us had a great night... a fantastic night..!!!!!

GBRJ Caroling (23/12/2006)
Caroling was special this year as we brought the Good news to the houses that we went... This was the first house we went.. Uncle Daniel and Aunty Shirley.. cool..

This was the second house. we took photo with the host and his family. His wife is from Sarawak.. and her family members were there too... double cool...

Next, we went to Aunty Apple's house... we sang... we danced...
and.. we took a group photo too..!!! hahaha....

the fourth house was Uncle Ong's house... nice house, big place... and yet he is moving to a BIGGER house next year..
and lastly, Uncle Lee's house... we ended our Caroling with spaghetti and hot dogs. hahaha....
It was a fruitful Christmas... and we were able to bond with each other... as some of us are studying overseas and is often outstation...
May God live among us always...

SIBU NBYC ~ i went, i saw, i learnt ~

It had been a very tiring week. However, it was one of my happiest time i ever had. Many things happened. I'm so excited because all the things that i have been waiting for had finally happened. And one of these interesting event is:

MY TRIP TO SIBU FOR THE NATIONAL BAPTIST YOUTH CAMP!

Our flight was at 7.05am. So, we had to wake up at around 4.00am and start to get ready. It was so tiring. There were 10 of us from GBRJ that attended this wonderful camp.

well, this is my first time travelling on an Air Asia plane. All this while it was MAS (wow wow!! MAS ROCKZ!) Everything was great about it, except of one thing, that is - there is no seat number. You have to rush for a good seat, which I find very ridiculous. common la, when i pay RM6 for a cinema ticket, i get a seat number, what about this?

It was a 2 hour flight. The scenery was beautiful. It was super bright by 8.00am.

There was this baby sitting beside me in the air plane. The baby was crying nonstop and it was getting on my nerves. However, this guy, Arthur, was sleeping like a pig behind me.. i wander how he did that..???

And.. welcome to Prayer Mountain, Sibu. This is where our camp is held. It is at the outskirt of Sibu. The campsite is able to accomodate 2000 people. The scenery is beautiful and the air is very fresh. Besides that, you will be able to see the stars shinning brightly in the sky at night.. and if you are lucky, you will be able to see shotting stars too!!!

These are prayer cubicles where people can go in there and pray. They are found around the mountain. According to a full-time worker there, this Prayer Mountain is built according to the design and pattern of another Prayer Mountain in Korea. Every year, many Koreans will come here for camps too. There was a batch of them just one week before we came.

My friends and I were one of the first to arrive at the campsite. We had to wait for another 10 hours for the other campers to arrive from various part of Sarawak. While we were waiting, we went for a walk around the campsite n we found PIGS!!! wow.. they SERIOUSLY STINK!!!

After the walk, we got so tired that we gathered in my doom and played UNO cards until we got so bored of it too!!

Then we started talking and taking pictures, stupid silly pictures..(u cant blame us.. we were TOOOOO BORED!!! 10 hours le...)

Later on, we got so bored of taking pictures and smilling, we started giving each other riddles, and we started laughting like mad people!! The riddles were super silly... and if u r interested to know, u can always ask me.. hahaha.. but, seriously.. its super SILLY..

This gurl (with a pony tail) is the last person to get the answer to the riddle.. boy.. you should see our silly actions as we tried to make the answer super obvious to her.. hahaha..

well, FINALLY, the other campers arrived.. however, there were another batch of campers stuck in KLIA as the Air Asia flight is delayed for 3 WHOLE HOURS.. kesian.. we had our opening ceremony at night. There were traditional dance by some campers.. and the musicians are all pastors.. Cool...

After the dance, our camp director, Pastor Eddie, was invited to burst 3 ballons with the pipe (i dont know what it is called...) but it was super funny.. cause he acted all macho, but couldn't burst any ballons until the 5th blow... hahaha.. Eddie..Eddie..

The praise and worship session was super!! It looks like a rock concert, but you can see that they really worship and praise God.. i had a cultural shock on the first day.. but then i realised that everyone has their own ways of worshiping and praising God.. and their songs.. wow.. there were 4 guitarists and 1 drummer. They are from different churches n yet they can accomodate with each other and give a great P&W session. They dont have any notes and they close their eyes and play.. wow.. God's power..

i was one of the committee members. And the best part of being one is that.. u get first hand of everything.. including touching n eating SAGO WORMS!!! this guy here is one of the sarawakian pastor..

well... now u see it....

now you dont... hahaha.. eeeewwww..

Sago worms are fat..(SERIOUSLY FAT!!!) and thank God, i dint have to eat it... anyway, my friend Arthur, said that it tasted like taufu and the skin tasted like chichken.. can u even imagine...??? hhhmm...
On the third day, we visited one of the long houses near our campsite. We were so excited..

The first thing that caught all of our attention was a banana tree in the middle of the hall with FOOD hanging on it.. anyway, we were greeted with traditional dances and then, the fun begin..
That's Pastor Eddie dancing with the warrior sword. The catch is that whoever wears the cap will have to dance around the tree one round and then using the sword, he or she will be allowed to cut something from the tree. After that, he or she will select someone else to dance. However, everyone was not allowed to eat the food until the whole tree was 'brought down' at the end with some kind of ceremony..

Then, we started shopping and taking pictures. The 3 guys behind are Sarawakians / musicians for the camp. The guy in yellow shirt is Benjamin, Pastor Eddie's son. Ain't he cute.... He just finished his UPSR..

I thought these were very ulu places.. and then... i spotted something.. a super big SATELITE outside the long house... and also ASTRO.. wow.. they are not ulu man.. my friends were like :"wat?? they got astro here..????"

After the visit.. we went back to the camp site for games. We played "The Battle Game". Actually we wanted to play this game at night 3.30am.. but it rained so heavily that we had to delayed it till the next day.We even waked them up at that time.. man.. they looked pists..

So, we ended up playing the game in the evening.. not so fun. but.. ok la.. i had to take care of this group of campers.. man.. they are seriously NAUGHTY!!!!

The point of this game is to get as many flags as possible. And to get other group's flag, you have to first put out their candle using water ballons.. the point of using candle is actually to allow people to know that you have a flag there.. and you dont know where your enemies are.. thats y i say this game was meant for playing at night.. anyway, my group members started forming allianses with other group members and all of them ended up attacking Israel and England (kesian..) however, at the end, every group started defending their flags and nobody attacked anybody.. hahaha.. funny ending..
when i return to the main hall in between the game, i saw something i couldn't believe..the gurl in purple shirt n blue pants was actually acting like she got really really high.. she was laughting n splasing water at the poor pastor.. n she started chasing one of the committee until he had to hide in the toilet.. n she started shouting otside the toilet.. The thing is that she is very very super quiet in church.. until she wont even answer you when you say good morning to her..man..
this is Chris..On the last day of camp, we didnt wanted to sleep, so we ended up playing 'THE DARE GAME'. no truth, just dare.. so, Chris lost n he was suppose to pose the "8 Ah Lian Poses".. hahaha.. he look so funny..
this is number 1..
number 2..

and number 5.. due to time constrain.. i can only put 3 photos..

on the last day, i was busy taking photos with almost everyone i knew.. the one in red is Pastor Eddie.. he rockz.. n the one behind me is Pastor Joshua.. he rockz too.. hahaha.. the other 10 youth are all my church's youth..

This are the other committee members from KLBC. wow!! i got new friends!!! they are really cool... n funny at times.. hahaha.. glad to know u guys man...

and all the GBRJ gurls.. cheers sisters..
Time really flies.. our flight back to KLIA is at 8.55pm. So, we spent the whole day in the camp sleeping this time instead of talking.. because we were too tired.. the other Sarawakian campers left early this time.. hahaha.. first to come, last to go..

we checked in as a group... cool a.. thats all our bags..

well, we had to wait at the airport again.. look at them chilling man..

Finally, the flight is here.. n its time to go home.. Sob SOb...

well, we were so bored and decided to play... UNO.. again.. start with UNO, end with UNO too....
hahaha.. tata Sibu.. love ya!!!
I CAME, I SAW, I LEARNT!!!
thank you God!!!
